Sr. NPI Buyer-Planner

The Sr. NPI Buyer-Planner is responsible for all activities related to NPI materials management. This includes procurement of materials for all NPI programs, reviewing the delivery forecasts, planning, and validating material availability including day-to-day communication with management team.

The NPI Buyer-Planner is considered the subject matter expert in NPI purchasing and planning and is accountable for ensuring kit completion and a key contributor for capacity planning.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of materials, parts, components, and services through the NPI and production inventory process.
  • Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness; reviews support documentation, alignment of backup documentation to requisition, and clarity of description.
  • Create purchase orders, monitors status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution. Expedite material delivery or explore other possible options with suppliers to avoid parts stock out.
  • Assists in identifying raw material, components, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules. Coordinates quality matters and engineering/changes or developments to suppliers.
  • Resolves issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, quality issues, and non-conformances with suppliers.
  • Participate in early supplier selection and cost negotiation; initiates new supplier set-up process.
  • Plan materials and build plan for new product (NPI) introductions from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Planning of all NPI work orders according to upcoming production plan, forecast, and customer orders.
  • Analyze and regularly communicate clear to build status for NPI orders to program manager and other stakeholders including verification of piece parts and subassembly availability.
  • Participate in daily/weekly production meetings and brings the material availability to table.
  • Plan materials and build plan for new product (NPI) introductions from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Effectively communicate material requirements and project timelines and milestones to internal and external suppliers to reduce and eliminate material shortages.
  • Collaborate with other departments and influence decision making to speed NPI materials processes in support of NPI program timelines.
  • Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any delays and roadblocks to meet target ship dates.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

General Accounting

  • Perform month end close tasks including accruing certain expenses or inventory or services.
  • Record monthly credit card expenses.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • 3 years in Accounts Payable role
  • Basic knowledge of accounting fundamentals
  • Attention to details.
  • Strong computers skills including Excel and Word.
  • Team player and solid communication; strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, dependability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
